Hello, World!

So, as you may have guessed, this post was not actually published in the year 2000, but I had to change the date in order to make the blog read with a sensible chronology.

You see, I’ve been writing stuff to put on a blog for years, and most of the posts already had publish dates, so I had to pick a time before the first. I’m not sure exactly when that is, but 2000 is probably far enough back. If not, I guess I’ll just have to change the date again in the future.

This blog was actually first published on the 9th of September 2017, when I finally decided that trying to write my own static site generator was just delaying me from actually publishing my site, and that GitHub’s Jekyll would be perfectly adequate. At least I could always change what tool I use for publishing in the future anyway.

I had tried a bunch of other static site generators and content management systems, and even gave WordPress a go for a while, but they all got on my nerves - either too complex, barely taped together, or not flexible enough. Jekyll, on the other hand, is incredibly easy to setup, but flexible enough that I should be able to do everything I want, just the way I want it.

I hope you enjoy reading all the stuff I have to say, it’s basically only on here to help others learn and overcome difficulties in development.

Enjoy.
